The company focuses on offering premium quality journalism for both print and online through the website cursdeguvernare.ro and Cronicile quarterly magazine. Varianta Media is founded by Cristian Grosu, one of the most highly regarded journalist in Romania. In his over 25-year career he worked for Adevărul and Jurnalul National newspapers, he was the editor-in-chief of Cotidianul, the editor in chief and CEO of Cronica Europeană and CursdeGuvernare. Varianta Media organizes various conferences and events and started publishing at the end of 2018 Cronicile, a content-driven quarterly magazine that covers the most relevant topics of the moment, from economy, finance, politics and human capital to geopolitics, technology and international issues.

The core team of Publicator, Diana Moldovan (Capatina) and Iulian Puiu, started under the name Reply in 2002.
In 2015, the team changed the name Reply into Publicator and continued the business as usual.
